AquaLoc4cee Hair Combo (Conditioning-Wash and Hair Butter)

The AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter is a formulation of natural ingredients that provides a protective moisture-locking barrier that helps to retain hair moisture. When applied to coily Afro type 4 hair, it provides a lubricating coating that leaves hair less brittle/fragile, soft and a lot easier to manage.

Step 1: Detangle with Sulphate-free AquaLoc4cee™  Conditioning-Wash (Co-Wash)

1. Select a section of dry hair and apply the AquaLoc4cee™  Co-Wash working from roots to ends while using fingers to detangle hair
2. Split detangled elongated section of hair into two parts and twist together
3. Continue to the next section - Detangle and twist until entire head is covered in AquaLoc4cee™  Co-Wash twists
4. Rinse AquaLoc4cee™  Co-Wash out of the twists by gently squeezing the lukewarm soapy water out of each twist
5. Do not towel dry the wet twists - you can allow excess water to drip off and immediately move to Step 2: application of AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter

Step 2 - Apply Moisture-Locking Styling AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter

1. Untwist one wet twist at a time. Generously apply AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter on each one of the twist-out pair, working from roots to ends and ensuring good coverage of the wet hair with the AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter
2. Re-twist the elongated wet hair before proceeding to the next wet twist - untwist, apply AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter from roots to ends, and re-twist.
3. Repeat until the entire head of wet twists is re-twisted with hair butter. Work quickly to avoid hair becoming dry before finishing.
4. Leave hair to air dry, usually over a day/two or leave it for longer and wear it as a twist-in hairstyle - which is a great option on hot days or for 'boys II men', and for 'girls II women' too!
5. Use a shower cap when showering to avoid getting hair wet/damp. Sleep on silk/satin covered pillow or in silk/satin scarf to avoid the drying effect of cotton pillowcases or hair accessories on hair. 
6. For the twist-out hairstyle, carefully unwind each 'dry' twist to expose the crinkly twist-out pattern. Shape hair into the desired look. Individual twist-outs will continue to naturally fluff out over a period of weeks while still retaining the crinkle curl pattern. You can simply re-twist the pairs whenever you feel the need to wear a twist-in without needing to redo wash day or reapply hair butter - except maybe very lightly along hairline if face-washing has removed it.
7. Repeat wash day when hair starts to want to lock or is getting tangled. Tip: retain and re-use the twist-out hair sections/pairs you've already created & not combed out.
   

All that's left is for you to just 'Get-Up-&-Go', i.e. no nightly plaiting, just get up, fluff-out/shape your hair & you're ready for your day!

Step 1: Apply AquaLoc4cee™ Conditioning-Wash (Co-Wash)

1. Apply Co-Wash to dry locks, distributing it along full length of lock from roots to ends. Repeat until all locks are coated in Co-Wash.
2. Cup locks in both hands and repeatedly squeeze them to work Co-Wash into the locks. This helps to thicken locks especially in areas where locks are thinning and may end up breaking. Try and spend as much time as necessary on this step.
3. Rinse Co-Wash off locks using lukewarm water. Avoid using
   water that is too hot as it strips oils from hair. Blot off excess water. Do NOT towel dry as hair needs to be fairly damp for application of step 2.

AQLFC™ TIP: Areas of white fluff and oil build-up on locks, such as will often happen when braids are applied on top of locks, can be removed by rubbing them with AQLFC™ Co-Wash during step 1, and then massaging them further with AQLFC™ Hair Butter in step 2.

Step 2: Apply AquaLoc4cee™ by DrB! Hair Butter

1. Apply AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter generously to each damp lock, working from roots to ends and ensuring that the entire length of lock is coated. Repeat until all locks are coated in
   AQLFC™ Hair Butter.
2. Using the DIY LocksPin® made as shown below, lock new growth starting from tips of new growth all the way down towards the scalp as follows:
   1. Insert the DIY LocksPin® near the top of new growth and as close as possible to previously locked section of hair.
   2. Tuck-in the end of the lock into the looped end of the DIY LocksPin® and pull pin through, and with it the lock of hair. This completes one turn.
   3. Insert the DIY LocksPin® slightly further down into the new growth at a 90-degree angle (perpendicularly) to the first turn. Repeat step b, i.e. tuck end of lock into looped end of pin and pull lock of hair through.
   4. Repeat sequence of inserting pin at sequential 90o angles and pulling through until all new growth is locked. Take care not to make the 90o turns too close together or to pull too tightly as this will thin out the locks.

AQLFC™ TIP: Coating of the full length of lock with AquaLoc4cee™ by DrB! Hair Butter, and not just the areas of new growth, protects the entire length of lock from becoming dry and breaking off or fraying, allowing locks to grow longer. 

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN DIY LocksPin®

Using a long hair pin, fold over the tips of the open end of the hair pin using crocodile pliers. Wrap fabric plaster or insulation tape over the folded tips to create a comfortable 
grip and your DIY LocksPin® is ready for use.

1. Sleep on silk/satin covered pillow or wear silk/satin scarf to avoid the drying effect of cotton pillowcases or hair accessories on hair. Satin fabric is shiny on one side and matt on the other. No nightly plaiting is necessary.
2. Use a shower cap when showering to avoid disrupting the crinkled hair pattern/style by getting hair twists wet/damp.
3. No need to reapply the AquaLoc4cee™ Hair Butter - the hair will retain the hair butter (especially if applied generously during hair washing) until the next wash day - which could be some 6 -8 weeks away!
4. In between hair wash days, you can switch between the twist/twist-in and the twist-out looks as frequently as you wish without needing to wet hair or reapply co-wash & hair butter. 
5. For your next hair wash day, re-use the existing sections of hair to avoid having to re-open lines/sections, and you can just get on with 'detangling & twisting with Co-Wash, rinsing twists, untwisting & moisture-locking with Hair Butter & re-twisting your hair' to a fuss-free 'GetUp&Go! Twist-Out/Twist-In hairstyle!

7. To get your AquaLoc4cee™ journey started, use the Co-Wash to section hair by parting hair in the middle to form two halves, then split the halves into four sections, then split each quarter into four more sections... continue until you reach the appropriate twist size for your length of hair.
