AquaLoc4cee Accessories
The accessories that are available through the AquaLoc4cee website have been specifically chosen as they work well with Afro coils and are recommended for use with AquaLoc4cee products, and include:
- DIY AquaLoc4cee LocksPin/Ready-Made LocksPins: DrB! recommends the LocksPin method of locking/refreshing Locks as a replacement for the winding or crocheting methods as both these cause alopecia/hair loss, thinning of locks, and a great deal of unnecessary pain. The LocksPin is simple to use:
- Simply insert the rounded end of the pin near the top end of new hair growth (away from scalp), and then insert end of Lock into the rounded end of LocksPin and pull back the pin together with the Lock. That's one turn completed.
- Insert LocksPin a little lower down and perpendicular to direction of first insertion. Tuck in end of Lock and pull through. Repeat perpendicular insertions until all new growth is locked. - Satin Bonnets, Scarves & Durags: Satin (or silk) bonnets/scarves/durags are recommended for sleeping in, as unlike cotton fabrics & hair accessories, satin/silk does not draw oils from hair leaving it dry. - Plastic Hair Ties/Ponies: These are better for tying hair and are recommended over cotton hair ties as they don't dry hair by drawing oils from it. The coiled hair ties work well for holding sectioned hair especially when starting to create DrB!'s effortless signature get-up-&-go twist/twist-out hairstyle from virgin Afro hair, i.e. use Conditioning-Wash to aid the sectioning of hair into 4 parts, followed by further splitting each quarter into a further 4 sections (you can split further for shorter hair). - X-Large Shower Cap: A much needed accessory to provide better coverage against getting wet for growing Afro hair than is possible with ordinary shower caps inbetween hair wash days.
